Also referred to as resurfacing, asphalt overlay can be a good option for pavement with damage that is exclusive to the surface, not the subbase or subgrade. With asphalt overlay, depressions, potholes, and cracks can be cleaned while other areas of pavement can be milled for proper drainage.
Then, tack is laid, and the new layer of asphalt is applied. The tack will help the new layer of asphalt adhere to the existing pavement.
